Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
The short version
- We collect what's needed to run Worvis: your account details, and the work information your business puts in.
- Information about your staff belongs to their employer. We look after it on the employer's behalf.
- Location is recorded only at the moment someone signs in or out, and only if their employer turns it on. Worvis doesn't track anyone continuously.
- We don't sell personal information, show ads, or use advertising trackers.
- Data is stored on servers in the United Kingdom. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information.
This summary helps you find your way; the full policy below is what counts.
1.Who we are
Worvis is a service for managing staff attendance, tasks and HR, provided by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("Worvis", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where they apply, the UK GDPR and similar laws. It works alongside our Terms of Service.
2.Two kinds of information
Information about our customers. When a business signs up, we're responsible for the account details of the people who run it (owners and admins), billing, and our communications with them. For this information, we are the data controller.
Information inside a workspace. Staff records, attendance, tasks, payroll and everything else a business puts into Worvis belongs to that business. The business decides what is collected and why, and we process it on its behalf, as a data processor. If you're a staff member with a question about your information, please ask your employer first; we'll help them answer you.
3.What we collect
| Information | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account details | Name, email address, phone number (if given), password (stored only in scrambled, "hashed" form), role and department. |
| Business details | Business name, type, country, office address and the settings an admin chooses. |
| Attendance | Sign-in and sign-out times, late arrivals, and, where the employer turns it on, location at sign-in and sign-out (see section 4). |
| Work information | Tasks, progress, comments, files and links people attach, sheets and records, announcements, messages, leave requests, reviews and documents. |
| Pay information | Salary figures and payroll entered by the employer, and staff bank details (bank, account number and account name) used to pay salaries. |
| Billing | Plan, payment amounts and dates, and a reference to the card used. Card numbers are handled by Paystack; we never see or store full card details. |
| Technical information | IP address, browser and device type, and records of sign-ins and errors, which our servers log to keep Worvis secure and working. |
| Messages to us | What you send us by email or WhatsApp when you ask for help. |
4.Location at sign-in
An employer can require staff to share their location when they sign in or out, to confirm they're at the workplace. When this is on:
- location is read from the person's device only at the moment they tap sign in or sign out, after their browser asks for permission;
- we store the position, its accuracy and the distance from the workplace with that sign-in or sign-out;
- Worvis does not track location in the background or at any other time.
Employers must tell their staff before turning this on.
5.How we use it
- To provide Worvis, as our contract with the business requires: running workspaces, attendance, tasks, payroll and notifications.
- To take payments and pay salaries, including checking bank account names with Paystack before money is sent.
- To keep Worvis secure and prevent misuse, which is in our and our customers' legitimate interests.
- To send notifications you've allowed, such as a new message, a late sign-in or an announcement, by email or browser notification.
- To support you and tell you about important changes to the service, billing or these policies.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping financial records.
We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or make decisions about anyone by automated means alone. Employers use the information in Worvis for their own decisions about their staff.
7.Where it is stored
Worvis is hosted in the United Kingdom, so information entered in Nigeria or elsewhere is transferred there. The UK has strong data protection law, and we rely on it, together with our providers' safeguards, to protect information transferred there, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act requires.
8.How long we keep it
- Workspace information is kept while the workspace is active. When a workspace is paused or closed, we keep it for 90 days so the business can return or ask for a copy, then delete it.
- Employers can delete individual records, such as a former staff member, at any time.
- Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period for security, then deleted.
9.Keeping it safe
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only in hashed form, keep each business's workspace separate, limit access by role, and protect sign-in sessions. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information we'll tell the business concerned without undue delay, and the authorities where the law requires.
11.Your rights
Depending on where you are, you can ask to:
- see the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your information, or limit how it's used;
- object to how we use it, or withdraw consent where we relied on it.
For information inside a workspace, contact your employer first; they control it, and we'll support them. For anything else, contact us (section 14). We'll respond within the time the law allows. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to the data protection authority where you live.
12.Children
Worvis is a service for businesses and isn't meant for children to use. Some customers, such as schools, may keep records about students who are children. They do so as the controller of that information and must have a lawful basis to do it; we look after those records on their behalf as described in this policy.
13.Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when how we handle information changes, for example if we start using a new service. For important changes, we'll tell workspace admins before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
